Tamil Nadu Train Accident Sparks Outrage as Rahul Gandhi Demands Accountability

A tragic train accident occurred in Tamil Nadu when the Mysuru-Darbhanga Express, travelling 75 km/h, mistakenly entered a loop line instead of the main track. This resulted in a collision with a stationary goods train, causing injuries to passengers and a coach to catch fire. The incident has raised fresh concerns over railway safety in India.

Following the accident, Rahul Gandhi strongly criticized the government’s handling of railway safety. In a post on X, Gandhi expressed his deep frustration, stating that despite numerous accidents and the loss of lives, the government has failed to take corrective action. He emphasized that “accountability starts at the top” and questioned how many more families must endure tragedies before the government implements significant reforms. Gandhi also compared the earlier Balasore accident, highlighting a worrying pattern of negligence within the railway system.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also voiced her concerns, echoing Rahul Gandhi’s statements. She criticized the government for its lack of accountability and pointed out the fear and chaos that passengers face due to inadequate safety measures.

This incident has reignited the debate over railway safety, underscoring the urgent need for systemic reforms to prevent future accidents.
