Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant Kishor revealed his starting fee for election strategy consulting as ₹100 crore (around $12 million) during a campaign event in Belaganj, Bihar, on 31 October 2024. Responding to questions about funding for his political activities, Kishor described his consulting fees as unprecedented in Bihar, stating, “In Bihar, no one has heard of fees like mine.” He added that his strategies are currently applied by ten governments across India, noting that a single advisory engagement can sustain his campaign efforts for two years.
In his address, Kishor urged voters to move beyond caste-based and ration-based voting patterns, which he argued keep Bihar in a cycle of underdevelopment. Criticizing both past and current political leaders, he emphasized the need for a shift in Bihar’s political culture to address the state’s enduring challenges.
The upcoming by-elections in Bihar are set for November 13, with results to be announced on November 23. Kishor’s Jan Suraj party is contesting four assembly seats that were left vacant earlier this year.
