Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya for completing the Ironman 70.3 triathlon in Goa, marking him the first Indian parliamentarian to participate in the prestigious event. The triathlon, known for its gruelling challenges, consists of a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km bike ride, and a 21.1 km run, which Surya finished in 8 hours, 27 minutes, and 32 seconds.
In a message shared on the social media platform X, PM Modi hailed Surya’s accomplishment as a “commendable feat” and expressed hope that it would inspire young people to take up fitness activities. Surya credited the Prime Minister’s ‘Fit India’ initiative for his motivation, highlighting the role of physical fitness in fostering personal discipline and success. He encouraged others to set fitness goals, emphasizing how such pursuits boost confidence and enhance individual capabilities.
