Jaipur: Indian singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh addressed fans at his recent concert in Jaipur, expressing regret over ticket fraud incidents that prevented some attendees from entering the venue. The artist’s apology came after multiple fans reported falling victim to counterfeit ticket sales, which Jaipur Police had warned about before the event.
Dosanjh Acknowledges Ticket Fraud and Apologizes
During his performance, Dosanjh directly addressed fans affected by the scam. “If anyone has fallen victim to a ticketing scam, I apologise to that person. We have not done this,” he stated, clarifying that his team was not involved in the fraudulent activity. Dosanjh’s remarks showed his disappointment over fans missing out on the event due to deceptive ticket sales, which he and his team could not control.
Ticket Demand and Rapid Sell-Out Contributed to Confusion
Explaining the circumstances that led to the issue, Dosanjh noted the high ticket demand, which sold out faster than expected. “Our tickets sold out so fast, even we didn’t get to know,” he said, highlighting how quickly demand exceeded availability. This surge in popularity appears to have provided an opening for unauthorized sellers to exploit fans seeking tickets at the last minute.
Police Warnings Against Counterfeit Tickets
Before the event, Jaipur Police issued a public advisory, urging fans to purchase tickets solely through official vendors, specifically Zomato Live and Scope Entertainment. The police made clear that tickets from unauthorized sources would not be valid for entry, aiming to protect fans from falling prey to ticket scams.
Dosanjh Announces Additional Shows in Response to Demand
Following the Jaipur incident, Dosanjh announced additional performances in other cities as part of his “Dil-Luminati Tour,” providing a fresh opportunity for fans across India to attend. The tour, which has already drawn high attendance in Jaipur, will now include additional shows in response to the overwhelming demand.
This incident underscores artists and fans’ difficulties in ensuring legitimate access to live events amid rising ticket fraud. Diljit Dosanjh’s swift apology and the announcement of extra shows reflect his commitment to an authentic concert experience, while Jaipur Police’s prior warning reminds him of the importance of verifying ticket sources.
